What I collect
- Comments: if you leave a comment, I store your name, e-mail address, comment and IP address so I can moderate it and fight spam. Your e-mail address is never published. If you tick the box, your browser stores a cookie with your name and e-mail so you don’t have to fill them in again.
- Spam protection: comments are checked for spam on this server. No data is sent to outside spam services.
- Contact: if you e-mail me, I use your message only to reply.
Affiliate links
When you click a link to Amazon, Amazon may set cookies to track whether a purchase came via this site. That’s covered by Amazon’s own privacy policy.
Statistics
I use Burst Statistics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It runs on this site’s own server, so the data isn’t shared with Google or other third parties. It only collects anonymous statistics, not who you are.
Security
To protect the site against hacking attempts, a security plugin logs the IP address of failed login attempts and may temporarily block it.
Hosting and backups
The site is hosted by TransIP in the Netherlands. Backups are stored in Google Drive.
How long I keep data
Comments stay as long as they’re published. Spam is deleted automatically after 7 days.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data. Just e-mail me.
